Us Scots have just recovered from bringing in the New Year and, as luck would have it, another celebration arises on the 25th of January to commemorate the bard Robert Burns. The celebration is in the form of a “Burns Supper”, with whisky, haggis, neeps and tatties. Toasts to the Haggis, songs, music and readings, toasts to and replies from the Lassies, concluding the evening with “Auld Lang Syne”.

In-keeping with this theme we thought you would love to see some amazing work from Sheila Tandy . . . .

The piece featured is inspired from the song, “Ae fond kiss” by Burns.

Sheila started her own business in 1999 creating Limited Edition Gesso panels some inspired by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh, wife of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and some her own designs. These are in collections around the world. She is now concentrating on larger original commissions.

If you wish to try Haggis, neeps and tatties, here is a Recipes from the BBC or you could try this recipe from 1911 !
