As an artist based in Twickenham the main body of Lee’s work is inspired by the vibrant colours of her childhood in New Zealand and her present working location; Eel Pie Island in the river Thames where the daily tidal fluctuations and changing light energise this historic location.
Lee is essentially a site-specific artist and the essence of her work is distilled from her immediate surroundings. She enjoys the challenge of new subject matter and uses colour to generate different moods and suggest dimensions hidden within familiar locations. A poem by Robert Graves describing a forest of ghosts is the inspiration behind the ‘Flurries Series’.
Lee welcomes commissions and is happy to work from photos and sketches of your favorite landscape or building, she can design bespoke paintings to enhance your home or workplace.
